Lost Reflection
by Kyle McMullan
Soon to be in music
I want it back, want my reflection back now
Another one of those days
I look in the mirror and what do I see, no mirror to be
I am going down, down
This time I didn’t hit the ground running
Going down, going hard, I can’t see my reflection anymore
Looking up, looking hard, looking around
Where’s my reflection?
I want it back, the time is now
Sneaking up like ghosts in light
It knocks me down, but I choose to get back up
Living a life of uncertainty
Never knowing when it will happen again
It’s wicked in nature hiding in darkness of light
It comes in light, it comes at night
I don’t let it hallow a hole in my heart and take the courage from me
That’s sacred part of me keeps me going on and on
Never would I, never will I be a ground dweller
I will find my reflection eventually
They can’t stop me!
Sneaking up like ghosts in light
It knocks me down, but I choose to get back up
Living a life of uncertainty
Never knowing when it will happen again
It’s wicked in nature hiding in darkness of light
It comes in light, it comes at night
It will return most certainly from the darkness of light
Waiting for another chance to strike at me
It comes in light, it comes at night
I don’t let it hallow a hole in my heart and take the courage from me
That’s sacred part of me keeps me going on and on
It won’t defeat me
Because I choose to see my reflection again
